it seems like this was taken ages ago. M looks so different.

ONE. how long were you dating your spouse before getting engaged?
L: a little over three years. 
M: three years & four months. 

TWO. do you remember your first big fight, if so, what was it about?
L: i do. after we talked about it & apologized we agreed we would never bring it up again. but like many arguments, it was over something small & pointless.
M: we agreed not to talk about it again.

THREE. who said "i love you" first?
L: M. he's a romantic. took me a couple months later to say it back.
M: me. 

FOUR. what is your spouse most afraid of?
L: snakes. he has night terrors about those things. 
M: being alone.

FIVE. who uses more hair-care products?
L: haha M. 
M: me. i gel my hair everyday.

SIX. who initiated the first kiss? how was it on a scale from 1-10?
L: that's a tricky one. i remember waiting for what felt like forever for that kiss. all the girls living on my dormitory hall would ask me if he had kissed me yet. my response was always no :( then one afternoon it finally happened. but i seriously think i might have initiated it. i'm sure he didn't mind. & it was good. a solid 10 ;)
M: me? 11 duh.

SEVEN. you are on you way out, & need to turn around because someone forgot something... was it you or your spouse who most likely forgot something?
L: him. his mind is always somewhere else. 
M: probably me. going back to make sure everything was unplugged.

EIGHT. who takes longer in front of the mirror? you or our spouse?
L: ...me. definitely me.

NINE. what would your spouse name your children if you had one girl & one boy?
L: girl - nadia. don't ask. boy - zane. he likes weird names.
M: girl - lumen or lena. boy - stephen or bash

TEN. if you were able to give away one thing that your spouse owned, what would you choose?
L: the stack of clothes he never wears. he thinks one day he'll wear them, so therefore he wants to hold on to them.

M: i'm thinking... she's pretty good about what she buys. i seriously can't think of anything.

here we go again -- playing this fun married-folk game.

just a little something to make y'all laugh. summer 2009.

ONE. what was it about your spouse that made you think they were "the one"?
L: everything. the fact that we had known each other since the age seven. that he was my best friend. my bosom buddy {anne of green gambles}. he was the one that i would call & talk about boy problems with. we'd go on double dates together {i never approved of any of his girl friends}. there wasn't a singe thing that made me realize he was the one, but rather years of friendship that did it. 

M: we were best friends before we had any romantic feelings for each other -- also i had more fun with L on double dates than with the person i was on the date with. 

TWO. what is your spouse's most annoying habit?
L: he leaves the cabinets opened after using them. drives me crazy!

M: the bed must be made PERFECTLY! i mean perfect. super annoying.

THREE. does your spouse have to sleep on "their side of the bed", if so, which side? {if you're laying in bed looking up at the ceiling, which side?}
L: the side of the bed doesn't bother him like it does me. but he HAS to sleep on his stomach with a pillow over his head. weird. i know.

M: yes! she has to sleep on the left side.

FOUR. how are you planning to spend valentine's day? {simple or outrageous}
L: definitely simple. probably with a candle lit dinner. homemade dessert & lots of kisses. that day is also special because it's maggie's birthday, so there will probably be a doggie party going on in the background. 

M: well, i'm a procrastinator, so simple. 

FIVE. who usually ends up trying to resolve an argument {aka... being the "bigger person"}?
L: M. he's basically perfect.

M: we never argue :p

SIX. how many kids do you plan to have one day, if any?
L: two. i applaud those who have more. 

M: two? is that the right answer?

SEVEN. what is your spouse's best friend's name & do you get along with them?
L: Laurie Brotherton -- i mean, she's alright ;)

M: trick question. i am her best friend.

EIGHT. if your spouse one day told you that they are an ex-convict, how would you react?
L:  freak the freak out!

M: "should we move to mexico?"

NINE. do you wish your spouse would stop doing a particular routine?
L: no, i don' think so. if anything, i wish when he picked out a shirt, he would remove the empty hanger too.

M: for her to stop being a night person & start being a morning person.

TEN. did the honeymoon go exactly as planned?
L: most definitely! in fact it went better than planned.

M: exactly. better than planned.

1. What was the worst thing that happened on you wedding day, if anything?

L: that morning that bakery called to let me know that the cake was done. just before hanging up they went over the design again to confirm everything. in short, it was all wrong. fortunately it was fixed & delivered on time. crisis averted. 
M: i almost forgot my coffee.

2. Who is the better driver?

L: definitely M. even though i tend to back-seat-drive he still is better.
M: ugh, me.

3. If someone had to play your spouse in a movie, who would it be?

L: Adam Brody -- personality wise.
M: Zoe Saldana -- L looks like her & she was the female character in Avatar. who reminds me of L.

4. What's your spouse's favorite comfort food?

L: tombstone pizza fo sho. really just pizza in general.
M: chocolate. 

5. Which one of you hogs all the covers in bed?

L: me.
M: kodi {the dog}.

6. The saying "opposites attract" must be true because my spouse & I couldn't be more different when it come to ____?

L: back massages. i don't like them. i like back RUBS. not massages.
M: foods we eat. i hate seafood, veggies, & cream cheese. L could probably eat anything. 

7. If your spouse won $5000, what would they spend it on?

L: i think a vacation.
M: another camera.

8. If your spouse could be married to any famous person, which would it be & why?

L: Zoe Saldana -- look back at question 3.
M: Ryan Gosling. his voice excites her.

9. Who controls the remote?

L: him all the way.
M: me.

10. If your spouse were a superhero, what would their "super power" be?

so this we a simple & fun way to maybe learn something new about each other. most of this i already knew, but it's funny hearing his response. like, i was a little offended when he said i would a new camera with $5000 dollars. i mean he's probably right but it makes me sound so selfish. & it's funny that almost forgetting his coffee was the worst thing that happened to him on our wedding day. coffee is a serious thing to him, but i know if he did forget it, it wouldn't have mattered. RIGHT, HONEY? {yelling to him from the other room}.

this was fun. i think we will continue to play every week.
