Friday's Letters {34}

Dear Husband you never cease to amaze me. I came home to a letter laying on the keyboard (cause you knew that would be the first place I go). It was from the bub & it basically said how much he loved me :) Well Mr. Brotherton, I stinkin love you too. Lets kiss tonight ;)

Dear gorcery shopping Lets be real for a sec -- I totally forgot how to properly do you that's what she said. No but for real, I went to the grocery store the other day & I was confused. One, I left my list at home. No real surprise there. & two, I basically bought everything I wanted. So yeah, the price was a tad but more than I wanted to spend & I'm sure I'm going to hear it from M. 

Dear Kodi You've started this new game called, Rabies Attack, where you try to play with me but instead you start jumping on the bed like a toddler & try to grab on to my wrists. Yesterday you yanked out a chunk of my hair. Lets not play that game anymore. 

Dear Skype Until recently I've had no real use for you. I mean sure, M & I will occasionally skype from different rooms. But who doesn't do that? But yesterday I used you like a grownup. I skyped with my good friend Chelsea from Lost in Travels. Zeke, Kodi & Maggie were al introduced. Even M popped in to say HELLO! She's a total gem & I'm so glad we met through blogging :)

Oh yeah, Chels, don't hate me for this pic. I was just screen shot-ing away during our chat. This one just ended up being my fav. Kinda looks like you're singing Wrecking Ball to me.

Dear Friday WOOHOO! I love you like a love song baby! Not only are you the single best day of the week, you're also my birthday :)

Dear Birthday Yikes! I'm 24! My 13 year-old sissy texted me this morning saying how I'm old now. Is that true? Cause if so, that's awesome then!

Dear M I'm excited to find out where you're taking me tonight. I'm a little apprehensive though after you told me you'd pack for me :/ Whatever you do please pack my booties, the ones with the straps, & my boyfriend jeans. Not my skinny jeans, those are dirty. Kay thanks!

Dear Gustatory Rhinitis You're getting worse by the second. Now every time I eat bread my nose runs & I sneeze till I'm out of breathe. This is supes no bueno. Bread is like my favorite food group so you can imagine my sad face :(

dear bub (aka M) So my birfday is rounding the corner. & if I know you (which I do) you've probably already gotten moi something or you're working on it as I type. & if you know me (which you do) you probably know that I'm working on finding out what it is you're working on. Know what I mean? Basically, if you're reading this, know that you need to be sneakier or I'm going to figure out the BIG surprise (which I'm thinking there is a big surprise if I know you at all... which I do).

dear school Holy moly!!! You're already kicking my booty. Like mad hard too. & I JUST realized (like literally this second) that I left two sheets of negative sleeves in lab. Crap! Hope I didn't need those...

dear weekend I know I often say that I'm so happy you've arrived, but this time I reeeally mean it.

dear friends & family Please be in prayer for my family. I know that's broad, but there's so much going on in various parts of the family right now that I just need a large prayer umbrella-ing us all under it. But good news, my mother-in-law has recovered very well. Her voice was gone for a while but it's back & she's getting stronger everyday. Now we just have to get rid of the rest of the cancer. Baby steps yall!

dear puny desk you are pathetic. i decided you are what's causing my grey hairs. it's time to replace you. goodbye.

dear daddio happy birthday! i love you like crazy. stay cool old man.

dear bank account i'm not in charge of you -- that's an M thing. but i did take a peep at you the other day & let me say i'm kinda impressed with your numbers. not bad kid. now what to purchase next :D

dear photography school you're killin me smalls. yeah, already. when you get a supply list you think 'ah, pencils, paper, three ring binder...' NOT '35mm film camera, photoshop cs6, lightroom 5, ilford print paper, can open?' sheesh! who do they think i am? mrs. money bags? thankfully most of this will be used throughout the next couple years. 

any big, or even small, plans this weekend? i think we're visiting my sissy-in-law in athens. eating our weight in fast food. i might get some homework completed & sunday i'm having my very first blate!!!

 dear linds i'm so excited for you & your new chapter in life. you're home has so much charm & i can't wait to see your room complete. you're gonna kill grad school!

 dear kodi & maggie sorry for the torture i put you through. i thought the crate would help you during the thunderstorms... next time i'll stick with the thunder jackets.
dear weekend!!! i'm so excited you're upon us. we were hoping to go to the gorge for a full day of hiking but the past few days of rain has flooded the gorge floor :( maybe we'll just shop instead.
dear tax free weekend!!! you're always a treat. it's an easy excuse for me to go shopping for back to school attire & M usually doesn't object.

dear beautiful succulents you make have a green thumb seem so naturally. you require little to no work. thank you for that. & thank you mama for getting this beautiful arrangement for me. you da best.

dear mom never call me again with "hey... we've just been a wreck." i immediately got in the car & headed to you. you told me everyone was okay. that it wasn't that bad. then i saw the car. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WASN'T THAT BAD?! on what planet is that not bad? basically what happened was an suv in front of her was turning. they were both at a complete stop. then another suv flew into the back of her teeny prius which caused her to hit the suv in front of her. my twin sisters were also in the car with her. again, no one was injured, just a bit shaken. thank God.

dear world i'm back!!! i'm officially recovered & well again. being sick is NOT fun. the worst part were the days where it felt like i ran a marathon then tried to get on an elliptical while holding my breathe. one minute in feeling decent then the next i'm barely holding it together.
dear bloglovin holy moly batman! i have 423 unread posts. woah. might actually have to click that mark all as read button for once. #sorrybutnotsorry

dear furminator you're amazing. you magically remove bags {yes. i said bags} of fur from kodi when at first it didn't even seem like she had that much fur to begin with. & it's fun! can't say kodi's having the time of her life but me? you bet!
dear heather girl, you are so thoughtful! thank you for sending me a sonic gift card. you know they say, nothing cures a cold better than a sonic milkshake ;)

dear photography school i'm so excited to begin you. in less than three weeks i will have gone to my first couple classes. going to school is such a joy to me. i love learning, especially when it's something i really enjoy. i can already feel the first day jitters. wondering what to wear? deciding if i should up front or closer to the back? & most importantly, if i'll make any new friends?

any plans this weekend?
as for us, we'll be visiting my mother-in-law at the hospital. probably helping my sister-in-law find furniture for her big move. & maybe a nap or two ;)

dear sharknado i had heard many things about you. some being "ridiculous" or "hilarious". think i even heard "best movie of the year"? but no matter what people said nothing would have prepared me for you. let's just say you were highly enjoyed & are now the butt of many jokes in the brotherton household.
dear iPod i lost you one night during an evening stroll on the beach. i realized it almost as soon as it happened but it was already so dark it was nearly impossible to see. we searched & searched but you couldn't be found. that next morning we just happened to be walking in the same area & some how stumbled upon. the ipod gods were looking out for me.
dear girls {yes i'm referring to our pups} your daddy & i have thoroughly enjoyed watching you two at daycare on the internet cameras. maggie, you'll occasionally move to sniff something that probably smells good? kodi, you're always running around. not ever running to play with another dog -- literally just running around the room. it's kind of strange. we can't wait to pick you two up tomorrow!
dear st. augustine our time with you has been one for the books. you were cancelled earlier in the summer but fortunately things worked in a way that allowed us to come anyways. this seven day vacation has been more than relaxing but refreshing. it's allowed us to get away from the cancer topics & focus on being together as a family. i'll never forget what you've done for us.

dear beach you were very unexpected especially after having to cancel you earlier this summer. but that wasn't a complaint. i can't wait to be sitting on you this time tomorrow!

dear jenna marbles you crack me up. stop it with the hilarious videos. i need to pack!
dear kodi & maggie i'm confident we're going to be one of those parents tomorrow when we drop you off to board. yep, telling the people everything they need to know about you. like your poop schedules, who sleeps on what side of the kennel, the proper way to give you lovin, what each noise you make really means. yes, i know everyone's going to roll their eyes at us, but it's what parents do.

dear beach trip we had to cancel you. since my mother-in-law is ill the doctors don't think she'd be up for vacation. but as long as she gets the treatment she needs, that's all that matters.
dear anniversary you'r right around the corner! we would have been at st. augustine but not anymore ^^^. but last night i figured out M has something in the works. he told me not to push him too hard to find out what it is. i'm really bad at that though. if i don't know what it is i usually think to high & get disappointed when i find out what it really is. so, the real questions is, do i push him or not?
dear anniversary gift year one is paper. what does that mean? like a card?
dear insanity workouts you're literally insane. that's all i have to say about you.
dear God i was thinking about how everything in my life has worked out okay. there used to be a time when i wished i could go back in time & change things. but as i write this, i don't wish that anymore. You knew all along that everything would be okay. You just sat back as i learned on my own. watched me fail but knew i'd be okay. it's so clear how much Your hand works in my life. i'd be lost without You.

dear last week you were something else. nashville one night. indiana the next. even visited st. louis & ended up in the mississippi river at one moment. you were filled with so much adventure & laughter. can't wait to share more with you all next week.

dear kodi & maggie your daddy & i are so happy to be reunited with you two again. we've only spent a week away from you once before & this time it was more difficult. glad we're all together again :)
dear little tradition i've run out of bottles to put you in. in separate bags, we have dirt/mulch/gravel from central park, indiana, the arch in st. louis, illinois & even nashville {& most of that is all form last week}. i guess i'll go out tomorrow to find cute bottles for ya.

dear jury duty uggghh... you start monday. i'm not looking forward to you at all. but it's my civic duty as an american & i accept that. still doesn't mean i'm not hoping they won't need me.

dear maggie you got groomed yesterday & dang! do you look good or what. okay, you might lean more towards "or what". i told the groomer i wanted her hair short. it's basically summer, so girlfriend will get hot. well, shame on me, but i assumed the groomer would do a cocker cut on maggie, just making her hair shorter all around.... nope. she went shoooort. even got rid of her skirt. so now maggie looks like Donkey from shrek the movie.

dear packing we have officially run out of boxes & tape. hmmmm... what now?
dear dinner with friends it's been long overdue. i can't wait to see you tonight & eat all your food ;)
dear new york this time next week we will probably working on our second breakfast & hitting up central park for some fun.

dear friday you were nuts yesterday. it was one of those days that was long, but fast at the same time. you know what i mean?

dear oversea bff i love our google chats. too bad we have a small window of opportunity since there's a 14 hour time difference, but i'll take it :)
dear jury summons i can't remember what my initial reaction was, but i think it was something like annoyed, frustrated with a pinch of excitement? fortunately you don't fall on any of our vacations. otherwise my reaction would have leaned more towards angry with no such pinch of excitement.

dear kodi i caught you red handed. you looked so pitiful & immediately knew you were in trouble. 

dear M i think you're obsessed with naked & bolthouse farms juice. & kroger's "buy one get one" deal has only encouraged it.

dear late night movie date you were so much fun! even though i didn't get to see gatsby, start trek was still highly entertaining. getting home after midnight was thrilling. made me feel young again :/ #marriedfolk

dear at&t your internet service is a p.i.t.a. we pay every month for your fast & reliable speed but we aren't getting any of that. i think we've had four different technicians come out here & "fix" it but nothing's better. i just tried calling your customer service & you asked for M's social security number. heck no, i'm not giving that to you. you are lame. #endrant
dear may you have been a stellar month so far. i love finding outfits that represent you the most. right now i think pastels & open toe flats describe you best. what do you think?
dear geese in our yard at first i thought you were so annoying for pooing in our yard. it's literally been a mine field out there -- dodging & scooping out the area for little green turds, but then i woke up this morning & saw your seven babies eating & crapping as they waddled. it was so cute. you're welcome in the yard whenever :)
dear redbox i'm crossing my fingers lincoln is available. i've visited you almost everyday this week, but no such luck. i need me some daniel day lewis asap.

dear laptop i hate to admit it, but i think you're dying. you're been vibrating & your insides are making funky sounds. i'm thinking you need to get checked out. to the apple store we go! {but maybe this is a sign for me to trade in my macbook for a pro... ;)}

dear sunscreen i've been good about putting you on everyday since the sun's been out in full force, yet still i get sunburn? what's up with that? you're spf 30. 30!! i'm asian, with supposedly great skin that doesn't burn. so i'm blaming it on you mr. {or are you a mrs.?} sunscreen. explain yourself!

dear just-cause flowers i'm pleasantly surprised you've managed to stay alive for two weeks. thought you'd be goners by day three.
dear rucker's  ^^^thank you for the free dock diving lesson. kodi was a bit confused at the part where you run & leap into the water. by the end she almost had it perfect. with a few more lessons she'll be a pro!^^^

dear wireless camera remote it's been well overdue that i purchased you. but after finding you for only $5.99 on amazon, there was no hesitating. bam! now you're on your way to become my newest companion. no more continuous shooting setting once i have you.

dear juicer you've finally arrived safely to our humble abode! once this lady week is over & i'm no longer screaming for chocolate, boston creme filled donuts, brussel sprouts & liters of mt. dew i'll whip together recipes that suja & blueprint juice won't be able to resist.

dear stomach stop growling. stop it already. i'm going to feed you once i finish this post. geez.
dear yesterday's news i'm working hard not to get my hopes up but let's be honest, they're WAY up. hopefully i'll share more soon.
dear God it's hard sometimes to understand why things happen. why would your hand be lifted during the boston marathon? why would your protection be absent in texas? it's confusing to ask myself such questions because i know it hurts you to see such devastation take place. but i'm confident prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. everything leads to the End & to the day you return to us all.
dear chelsea thank you for pointing out that i'm a no-reply blogger {pretty much the biggest sin for a blogger, right?}. i'll be brief, but i always knew i was, i just didn't know how to fix, nor did i take the time to figure it out. so thank you you chels for pointing out that i'm a lazy anti-social blogger ;) but i know you'd be proud to know that i fixed the issue.
dear work thank you for my raise yesterday! i was shocked when i was told & quite proud. it's a bummer i won't be able to keep it when i return to school full-time but i'm also excited about school, so it's a bit of a catch22.

dear pollen count you were absurd yesterday. we had a warning yesterday to stay indoors cause you were that high. poor pepper {she's our black car. salt is our white one. original, i know...} was yellow by the end of the day. she looked sick.
dear last night's thunder storm thanks for washing pepper & all the pollen into the lake. now our lake looks sick.
dear kodi  you are going to be so excited to know that on monday you're going to doggy daycare. you're going to make so many friends but more importantly, you're going to be exhausted. SCORE!
dear georgia you're weather has been phenomenal. we took the girls to the park & they got hot. first panting session of the year & many to come.

dear spring break i'm soooo glad you're here!!! technically it's not my spring break it's M's. but i'm still doing backflips down the hallway because M will be home all day everyday for nine days. no late night meetings. no after school track practice. now he'll be home in time for my toddler pleasing dinners.
dear crock pot you're my favorite kitchen appliance. hands down. you make preparing dinners so much easier, you eliminate like, four steps. i just throw {yes, literally throw} in whatever meat was on sale at the grocery store, a pinch of spice here & a dash of... another spice there & viola! you cook to perfection every time. & the best part of it all, M thinks it was me ;)
dear weather man i know i can be hard on you. like the time you said it was going to be partly cloudy then it snowed & i called you bad names. & like that time when you said there was a high chance of heavy rain, so naturally i wore wellies & my raincoat, but it turned out i overdressed & discovered my feet could sweat {t.m.i.} & again, i called you bad names. but i was proud of you yesterday. you called for a beautiful day -- & yes, i was skeptical, but optimistic nonetheless -- & it was quite the beautiful day. no bad name calling yesterday. keep it up! {that's what she said}.
dear 365 project you've grown to be pretty challenging. thank you everyone who encourages us & speaks so kindly of the project. when we thought about starting it we didn't think we'd get this far. today marks the 88th day & with've yet to miss a day. but many times we are burnt out on creative ideas. so those nights we take them by "the wall". it's literally a wall {shocker} in our living room. we just sit in the same two spots & cheese. if there's any creative poses, backgrounds, acts or ideas please share them. otherwise the next 277 pictures will be of us in our pj's frowning by "the wall". ideas people. i need some inspiration!

h a p p y   f r i d a y

dear me you've been a poor blogger the past couple weeks. yes yes, we know... you've been busy, life gets in the way. but they all say that. do better.
dear life you heard that ^^^ i won't use you as an excuse anymore. i'm going to be more strict about my posts. i'm actually going to fill out my post calendar & stick to it. so, no matter how hard you hit me i won't let you defeat me. boom.
dear ebay kinda been all up in your biznaz this morning. thinking about buying a juicer. anyone know of a good brand? i'm clueless.
dear juicer after this weekend's tragedy, everyone in the community came out to pay their respects. everyone also brought over a year's worth of food. so, my family & i have been munching on four different homemade mac n' cheeses, breakfast casseroles, spaghetti & bbq sandwiches. Lord only knows how much sugar & carbohydrates i consumed. in great need of that juicer. also, that much food does crazy things to you, if you know what i mean... several bathroom visits in a single day.
dear spring so far you've provided lots of sunshine, but no warmth. take away the wind & we will be on good terms. k? thanks.

dear abby i never thanked you for spending the night with us last weekend. spontaneous slumber parties are the funniest. *for those who are wondering, abby is my 12 year old sister. she's a ham & growing up to be quite a beautiful young lady with so much personality. i love that chick. 

dear payday you make this friday so much better. who doesn't love a payday? that's right, no one raised their hand cause paydays on friday's are the bestest.

dear hookie day this week in my personal & semi-professional {yes, i'm working on becoming a pro at playing hookie} i think they {the greater power that creates holidays} should create a national hookie day for people like me. taking wednesday off was refreshing & having M playing along by my side was the highlight of it all.

dear daylights saving time i love that you make the days seem longer. we've been able to stay out in the yard till 9pm with plenty of sunlight, but the other night i was so pooped i went to bed early & found myself being kept awake by the light. that shouldn't be right. also, losing an hour of sleep that first night really sucked. but i'm choosing to forgive you.

dear M it's our 8 month anniversary today. time flies when you're having a good time ;)

dear gym M kept pushing me to renew my membership once it ran out. he said you made me happier or something crazy like that. i thought i'd be able to keep myself accountable at home. you know, pull out the yoga mat & all my julian dvd's. but nope. maybe rode the bike a few time. did a pushup here & there. then i finally did it -- realized M was right. you do make me happier, so i renewed my membership & have visited you everyday so far. 

dear google reader wish i knew why you were retiring. not that it would change anything, i just like to know everything. but, seriously it is a bummer you are going away. fortunately i have a bloglovin account, so follow along if you haven't already.

dear sunshine you make everything so much better.
dear phone call from doctor next time you call i'm letting you go to voicemail. it's never a good thing when they personally call you. so yeah, next time i'm not answering.
dear married life you haven't always been what i envisioned. sometimes things can get boring {for a lack of a better word}. sometimes you throw a curve ball & M & i need each other to REALLY lean on. sometimes things are so great we never want to come down from cloud nine. i say this a lot, but i know i wouldn't be able to handle it all without M. he's the foundation to it all. with him, i know it's all going to be okay.
dear weekend you're my first weekend off since i got my new job. my boss even asked me if i wanted if off so i could spend time with M. i really appreciated that. so i think we are going to the cinema tomorrow night. maybe dinner too?
dear house hunting we've put you on hold for the moment. there's other things in the works that i'm more excited for!

according to my nearest & dearest friend, weather.com, things are going to be lovely here in georgia. hope it's the same for all of you.
