 dear linds i'm so excited for you & your new chapter in life. you're home has so much charm & i can't wait to see your room complete. you're gonna kill grad school!

 dear kodi & maggie sorry for the torture i put you through. i thought the crate would help you during the thunderstorms... next time i'll stick with the thunder jackets.
dear weekend!!! i'm so excited you're upon us. we were hoping to go to the gorge for a full day of hiking but the past few days of rain has flooded the gorge floor :( maybe we'll just shop instead.
dear tax free weekend!!! you're always a treat. it's an easy excuse for me to go shopping for back to school attire & M usually doesn't object.

dear beautiful succulents you make have a green thumb seem so naturally. you require little to no work. thank you for that. & thank you mama for getting this beautiful arrangement for me. you da best.

dear mom never call me again with "hey... we've just been a wreck." i immediately got in the car & headed to you. you told me everyone was okay. that it wasn't that bad. then i saw the car. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WASN'T THAT BAD?! on what planet is that not bad? basically what happened was an suv in front of her was turning. they were both at a complete stop. then another suv flew into the back of her teeny prius which caused her to hit the suv in front of her. my twin sisters were also in the car with her. again, no one was injured, just a bit shaken. thank God.

dear pollen count you were absurd yesterday. we had a warning yesterday to stay indoors cause you were that high. poor pepper {she's our black car. salt is our white one. original, i know...} was yellow by the end of the day. she looked sick.
dear last night's thunder storm thanks for washing pepper & all the pollen into the lake. now our lake looks sick.
dear kodi  you are going to be so excited to know that on monday you're going to doggy daycare. you're going to make so many friends but more importantly, you're going to be exhausted. SCORE!
dear georgia you're weather has been phenomenal. we took the girls to the park & they got hot. first panting session of the year & many to come.

mr. sun

you graced us with so much of your presence this weekend. it was an amazing 70 degrees out. any bit of available time we spent it outside as a family. M pulled out the fishing poles. i set up my camera. kodi chased squirrels while maggie rolled in dirt. it could have been a scene on a postcard. maybe not. but it was still a sight to see in the middle of january. unfortunately they say a good thing doesn't last long. they say that, right? because now it's suppose to rain for three days straight. yuck! weather.com tells me it's going to be mostly cloudy {no mr. sun} & in the 50's. 

 taking advantage of the sunshine. kodi is probably the weirdest dog. 

she doesn't like to chase balls -- only rocks. we love her though.

back to reality

so today it is official. the holiday break is over so that means back to reality. boo. took me a while to make my way out of bed this morning. not to mention kodi & maggie had me sandwiched under all the blankets. crawling out of bed would have meant disturbing their sleep & trust me, that's a serious crime in this household. said my goodbyes & go do yo thang to M as he was walking out the door with his walmart bag lunchbox - thanks a lot kodi.

now that M & i are back to busy schedules our 365 project will be difficult. & probably lame... NO! i refuse to let that happen! seriously though, during the week our pictures will have to be taken at night {when there's no good light. actually, no light at all!} so if anyone has great tips for night pictures PLEASE share.

HAPPY-ish MONDAY

hello twenty thirteen

yes i know i'm a wittle bit late. if i had to sum up the past three days in one word it would be lazy. lazy fo sho. to start our new year off with a BANG we headed over to the nearest urgent care office since all other legit doctor offices were closed for the holiday. sat around for a couple hours before we left with much needed antibiotics but not before there were shots in the bum. we've spent the past 48 hours in bed watching the entire first season of Homeland, finishing off every ounce of gelato, & occasionally doing a few humanly acts like eating & showering.

but we did grace the world with our presence this afternoon. we took the girls to the lake where kodi ran & ran along the water, maggie sniffed each rock, & mama & papa tried to stay warm. it was a nice change of scenery.

a bit of fun in the leaves

though we live in the south, this weather isn't the typical december chill. so i spent some time outside with my girls this evening. kodi has an infatuation with rocks. she even knows the word well. one mention of rocks & you've got her full attention.

"ROCK! DID YOU SAY ROCK?"

 she does this cute/funny pounce if you throw the rocks in the leaves. she has so much determination to have the rock, she literally dives in the leaves.

yeah, we have fun.
