my thoughts

they aren't always full of sense. sometimes i just go off on tangents in my heads. just before falling asleep is the one time where i think the most. that time right as you're eye lids get heavy. 

like, what the heck! it's less than two weeks till Christmas day & we still don't need to turn the heat on. my fingers are still crossed for a white Christmas. & my toes, arms, legs, eyes. you get the picture. 

like, how i rekindled my love for green tea. there was a period where i got into M's coffee & earl grey (not mixed, don't worry). sometimes green tea is just the key to a good body & mind cleanse. 

like, how i'm still waiting for a certain someone's gift that was ordered almost a month ago? it better be here by the 25th or someone on etsy won't be receiving positive feedback. just sayin'.

or like, the fact that i'm going to need at least two, possibly three, razors the next time i decide to shave my legs. t.m.i.?

a night in

sometimes going out is just exhausting. especially after a long week. so naturally that called for extra large sheets, our comfiest pajamas & the most sinful store bought gelato. i think the conversation went something like this --

L: "wanna make a fort?"
M: "you mean like with sheets & you crawl inside?!"
L: "yes, like with sheets & you crawl inside."
M: "you can't be serious. you're kidding me."

 we enjoyed the fort so much we extended it over our bed. it was like sleeping in a tent, just comfortable. & warm. indoors. no sleeping bags... yeah you get the idea. still way better.
fort making is so much fun, especially when you have the right person to play with :)

Dear M --  thank you for trying to take care of me yesterday. now i understand that you weren't being a controlling man, but a concerned & loving husband who wishes he could do everything for me. you're sweet. honestly though, #iamwoman

Dear Car -- after yesterday's incident {& yes, i'm talking about the flat tire} i feel like we have a stronger connection now that i handled your flat tire with grace a few tears & lots of bad words. what was up with your bolts being soooo dang hard to unscrew? couple times i thought i blacked out & lost my sight. but let's get real for a second, i. laurie brotherton. changed a tire. M was so proud we had a special dinner aaaand dessert ;)

Dear Weekend -- thought you would never come.

Dear Library -- i love that we live in a small town. before i would have to wait a least two weeks before a requested book would arrive. now i only have to wait a day? this has to be a dream.

Dear Target -- you make me want to go bankrupt. last night i even wanted to buy that Alice + Olivia Bike when i have no use for it. & those white wheels would never stay white. & yet, i usually go to you  for clothes, shoes, & other accessories first. you rock Target.

a bit of fun in the leaves

though we live in the south, this weather isn't the typical december chill. so i spent some time outside with my girls this evening. kodi has an infatuation with rocks. she even knows the word well. one mention of rocks & you've got her full attention.

"ROCK! DID YOU SAY ROCK?"

 she does this cute/funny pounce if you throw the rocks in the leaves. she has so much determination to have the rock, she literally dives in the leaves.

yeah, we have fun.

hello december!

hooray for december. most of us, including myself, usually think of december as the month for presents.  the time to sit of santa's lap. light the fire place with stockings hanging above. when the house smells like a fraiser fir. & you cross your fingers for a white christmas. but it's also the last month of the year. time to be thinking about those resolutions that, let's be honest, you probably won't be able to keep. but, hey it's the thought that counts the most right? it seems like each year is going by quicker & quicker. before ya know it, i'll be saying hello janurary!

so far this december...

kodi figured out where we hid her christmas presents. she woke us up during the nights whining at our closet door. 

yep. we are suckers & gave in. 

we enjoyed a little family trail blazin'

we supported my youngest sister as she & her fellow MoHawks played for the girl's middle school lacrosse championship. they made it all the way to the semi-finals. so proud. 

 this is abby. she's a ham.
